As the Owner and Financial Advisor at Five Star Financial Services, my primary responsibilities involve meeting with clients, providing full-service fiduciary wealth management, and ensuring they are well-informed about market changes, economic trends, and estate planning strategies. I am recognized for my skill in simplifying complex financial concepts for easy understanding. I have been in the financial services industry since 2009, specializing in financial planning, risk mitigation, and estate planning strategies.

My expertise lies in rollover investments and defined benefit plans for the self-employed. Before transitioning to finance, I had a successful career as a Boeing 727 Airline Captain at Champion Air. I hold a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota, earned in 1986, and recently obtained the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor® (CPFA®) designation in 2022. I am driven by the principles of self-employment, client interaction, and the problem-solving nature of American capitalism. I firmly believe in guiding my clients towards their financial goals, no matter how distant they may seem. 

As a native of Brownton, MN, I now reside in Hutchinson, MN, with my wife Kathy. Together, we cherish our time gardening on our hobby farm, exploring the Canadian Wilderness, and engaging in travel, fishing, biking, and family gatherings. Our family is blessed to be growing from our three children and their spouses as well as four grandchildren. Beyond work and family, Kathy and I actively participate in community activities, such as Cornerstone Church, the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, and Hutchinson's Networking Referral Group. We find joy in growing our Biblical knowledge and contributing to our community's well-being.

I am proud to serve as the Non-registered Assistant at Five Star Financial Services. With a background in various fields, I bring a wealth of experience to my role. Since 2015, I have been dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients. My responsibilities include managing client phone calls, organizing events, maintaining paperwork, and fostering strong client relationships with a smile.

Before joining the financial industry, I held management positions at various Byerly's locations. I also worked at The Hutchinson School District, and Connect Care. My background includes studies in Consumer Food Science at the University of Minnesota, University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener certification, and various other roles and certifications, such as the Hutchinson School District Para at Park Elementary, a Certified Nursing Assistant, and a Trained Medical Aid. I also successfully ran my catering business, Taste Buds, for over 15 years.

My motivation stems from the joy of building lasting connections with our clients and supporting the advisor who guides them through life's financial journey. I take pride in assisting clients in providing administrative support as they navigate financial opportunities to pursue stability and happiness. I find fulfillment in playing a role as I support the advisor who is helping them pursue their financial dreams..

Originally from Plymouth, MN, I now reside in Hutchinson, MN with my husband, John. Together, we have three adult children and four grandchildren. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, biking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, spending time at our off-grid cabin in Canada, and engaging in activities with my grandchildren. I also value participating in bible study and traveling to broaden my horizons.
